How do you deal with comments about your weight from family members?

Every family gathering my relatives comment on my weight. Sometimes it is disguised as concern, sometimes it is just blunt. I dread seeing them because of this. I have tried ignoring it and hinting that I don't appreciate it but nothing changes. How do I make it stop?

Be direct the next time it happens in front of everyone: 'I don't discuss my body and I'd appreciate it if we could move on.' Discomfort is the point. Making it slightly awkward for them is the only thing that creates change.

You can also address it privately before the next gathering with the main offenders. 'I need you to stop commenting on my weight. It hurts me and I won't be engaging with it anymore.' Then follow through consistently.
