The moment I start talking to someone I find attractive my mind goes completely blank. I forget how to have a normal conversation and become awkward and stilted. I am fine with people I am not attracted to. Why does this happen and how do I fix it?

It happens because attraction raises the stakes in your mind and your brain goes into performance mode. The fix is to stop trying to impress them and start being genuinely curious about them. Shift the focus from you to them.

You are treating them like they are above you before they have done anything to earn that. Try to see them as just another person. The attraction is in your head, they don't know about it yet.
