What advice would you give your younger self about relationships?

I am in my late 30s and looking back at my 20s I made so many relationship mistakes that caused enormous pain. I wish someone had told me certain things earlier. What relationship wisdom do you wish you had known when you were younger?

How someone treats you when they are stressed, embarrassed, or inconvenienced tells you everything about who they actually are. Pay far more attention to those moments than to how they treat you when everything is easy.

Red flags do not become green flags with time and love. Hoping someone will change is not a relationship strategy. If you see something concerning in the first few months believe it completely.
