Is it okay to leave a job after only a few months if it is not the right fit?

I accepted a job 3 months ago and I already know it is completely wrong for me. The culture, the work, and the management are all different from what I was told in the interview. I feel trapped because I worry leaving so soon will look terrible on my resume.

Three months is long enough to know something is wrong. Staying in a miserable job for a year just to avoid a short tenure on your resume costs you far more than a brief explanation in an interview ever would.

Most hiring managers understand that jobs are sometimes misrepresented. Be honest in future interviews: 'The role turned out to be significantly different from what was described.' That's a credible explanation.
