How do you accept that some of your dreams may never happen?

I had dreams in my 20s that I am now realizing may genuinely not happen. I am grieving them but also feel like I am supposed to just accept it and move on. How do you grieve the loss of a life you imagined without becoming bitter or stuck?

Grieve them properly first. Skipping the grief and jumping to acceptance does not work. Allow yourself to feel the loss of the life you imagined before you can genuinely open to the life you actually have.

Some dreams change their form rather than disappearing. The specific goal may not happen but the underlying need it represented might be fulfilled differently. Ask what you really wanted from that dream and whether another path leads there.
